Neel Kearby medal display - Veteran's Day ceremonial unveiling When: Tuesday, November 11, 2008 – 10 a.m. Where: City Hall - 3rd floor, Council Briefing Room hallway During this Veteran's Day ceremony celebrating Arlington's World War II flying ace, Colonel Neel E. Kearby, we will unveil a display that includes replicas of the numerous medals he received for his heroics. The display's centerpiece is the Congressional Medal of Honor. Col. Kearby spent his formative years in Arlington, obtaining his high school education and attending college here. He was shot down and killed in the Pacific Theater in 1944. His body was eventually recovered then reburied in Dallas in 1949. Please feel free to forward this information to others you know who would be interested. We hope to see you there!
